DZfoot List for CAN (3/3)

Tunisia opens its doors, Mali and Ivory Coast are on hold

Continuation of the second day of the 2022 African Cup of Nations (in fact 2021 has been postponed to 2022). Tunisia rebounded by crushing Mauritania while Mali and Côte d’Ivoire were suspended.

The surprise was too big during Algeria’s defeat against Equatorial Guinea (0-1), and Tunisia’s neighbors, for their part, regained their colors by crushing Mauritania 4-0. With the Khazari duo in particular, the Carthage Eagles scored their first three points while the Almoravids were, in all likelihood, eliminated already within this F group.

Another out-of-competition country, Mali, is frustrated. In a closed match, the Malian team opened the scoring in the 67th minute before the match was tied at the end of the match by a surprising team from The Gambia, at the top of Group F. All scenarios are still possible in this group.

Finally, in Group E, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone neutralized each other. However, Elephants opened the scoring by Haller, and eventually scored before they could be caught. Their second goal would finally be rendered almost useless after the blunder of their goalkeeper Sangare, who was injured by raising his hands in the disastrous turf at Jabuma Stadium. The final score is 2-2 and Group E can still see their four teams qualify.
