Through the Playoffs: News from Jacob Truba and Cam Talbot

The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has announced that Jacob Tropa will not be penalized for hitting Sidney Crosby.

In Game 5 between the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, Tropa hit the captain of the penguins hard in the second half. Crosby did not return to the match after that.

Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Crosby had an upper body injury. His presence in Game 6 is uncertain and his health will be evaluated by the team’s doctors.

The Rangers won Game Five, 5-3, and the series now moves to Pittsburgh.

After winning 3-2 in the series, the Penguins will once again have the opportunity to finish the Rangers season on Friday night.

Talbot will get the first start

Facing a series elimination against the St. Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild will turn to goalkeeper Cam Talbot in Game Six tonight.

So Talbot will replace Quebec Marc-Andre Fleury, who was automatic in the first five engagements.

The 34-year-old Talbot has 32 playoff experience with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.

This will be the Ontario goalkeeper’s first start since April 28.

The sixth match begins at 9:30 pm.
