Puy du Fou Historic Theme Park has teamed up with Parisian publisher Microïds to create a video game on the theme of Puy du Fou. The game is in development for sale in the spring of 2022. It will be available for all game consoles (Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch) as well as on PC.
The video game will feature an original story inspired by the theme park world, and the first release will take players through three Puy du Fou universes: The Vikings, Le Signe du Triomphe, and Le Secret de la Lance. Thus, the park wants to bring the brand and the universe that makes it unique into the daily lives of the French people in a more sustainable way.
“With the Microids teams, we will come up with an original story to make this game a true spectacle that brings the whole family together, as do all creations of Puy du Fou,” stated Nicolas de Villiers, President of Puy du Fou. Microïds will organize the emotions that park visitors experience with tasks and goals. For now, the video game will be presented in French and will be linked to performances in the Vendée Park.
Adventure Games Specialist
The Parisian publisher (50 employees), specializing in adventure games, is the creator of the video games Fort Boyard and Koh Lanta. He works with creative studios including Ocellus, Osome and Eden Studios. It also adapts licenses such as The Smurfs, Marsupilami or Sisters.
Puy du Fou actually went down last year with Larousse in a board game. Sold exclusively in park stores and online, this is an escape game organizing kit that gives participants one hour to escape the Vikings.
