The Science Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary • TNTV Tahiti Nui Télévision

in the program :

  • A virtual science village that offers online science workshops and experiments;
  • a series of conferences on November 10 at Paofai Park and on November 19 at Criobe in Moorea;
  • exchanges between scholars and middle/high school students;
  • A photo exhibition entitled “Back to the Milestones” of Science in Polynesia, in Paofai Park;
  • publishing “science in bubbles” books for colleges;
  • Ten “Science en direct” thematic programs hosted by three “L’Esprit Sorcier” hosts.

Popular science articles will also be published in The Conversation. The work of three Polynesian scholars will be published there:

  • Van Mai Kao Loermo, Physician of Virology, Head of the Research Laboratory on Vector-borne Infectious Diseases at the Louis Mallardi Institute for the article: “From Zika to Coronavirus 2, Stories and Challenges for Researchers in French Polynesia”;
  • Laetitia Hedouin, Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography and Marine Environments from CNRS-CRIOBE on “How Global Warming Threatens to Kill Coral”
  • Jean-Yves Mayer, Physician in Ecology and Evolution, Research Officer in the Research Delegation on “Dozens of Species Discovered in French Polynesia … All Endangered!”.

The official opening of the Science Festival will be on November 10, 4 p.m., at Paofai Park.
