The Ministry of Health updates the response plan to monkeypox

In this new version of the intervention plan published by the Ministry of Health, we find the definition and management of cases, as well as the creation of an information service related to new cases.

According to the memo that was sent to all the services under his supervision, Minister Khaled Ait Taleb explained that the modernization was carried out in accordance with the latest international developments.

Thus, the possible state is defined as ” Anyone who has a rash, vesicular or vesico-pustular, preceded or accompanied by fever (numbered 38°C or unnumbered), and whose usual causes include: exclusion of chickenpox, measles, herpes, rickettsial or a possible allergic reaction, and has been in contact with a confirmed case within 21 days before symptoms appear “.

People who have recently developed symptoms in a country with a high prevalence of the virus, who have multiple sexual partners or who have lesions on the external genitalia or in the perianal area, which cannot be explained by another obvious cause, are also worrisome.

Currently, only university hospitals (CHU) can analyze samples to confirm cases of monkeypox. The new version of the response plan emphasizes that children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised people, such as HIV-positive people with poorly controlled chronic disease, as well as patients with chronic skin conditions or severe skin diseases, are considered in danger.
