The largest aircraft in the world destroyed in Ukraine will be reconstructed

It was passing through Mirabel airport at the beginning of the epidemic: the Mriya (or Antonov AN-225), this giant Ukrainian airliner built in the 1980s, was destroyed by Russian strikes on February 27, 2022.

The machine’s manufacturer posted on Twitter, “The dream will never die” the day after it was destroyed. Maria means “dream” in Ukrainian.

Antonov announced on Twitter that the reconstruction project had already begun. The company estimates the cost of its renewal at 500 million euros, or 680 Canadian dollars.
