The biggest dog in the world died

Peebles, the world’s oldest dog, died earlier this week at the age of 22 in the southeastern United States, the Guinness Book of Records announced Wednesday on its website.

This female, from the fox terrier family, has been fed cat food by her owners since 2012, which may have contributed to her longevity.

“Pebbles, the largest dog in the world, unfortunately died naturally and quietly, at home and surrounded by her family,” the owners wrote on Instagram.

The dog was born on March 28, 2000 in Long Island, New York and lived mostly in South Carolina. With her petite build and 2kg weight, she gave birth to 32 puppies during her lifetime.

Pebbles was named the world’s oldest dog in May 2022, during a visit by experts from the Guinness Book, a real establishment that sets records across the board.

According to its owner, Julie Gregory, the secret to Peebles’ health lies in caring for the dog, which she has done “extremely carefully,” she said.

Country music fan Peebles died five months before her 23rd birthday celebration.
