Tesla cars at a standstill after server failure; Elon Musk checks out

Tesla chief Elon Musk said Friday night that a review process is underway, as server outages appear to be affecting some of the brand’s vehicles, which could prevent owners from getting started, according to Twitter accounts.

“I’m checking,” Elon Musk replied on Twitter, to a South Korean Tesla user who said he was having a server issue connecting the Tesla Model 3 to his Apple app.

And this driver explained that he could not start his car with his phone, but only thanks to the key in the form of a card that he had with him.

Other testimonies on Twitter reported this breakdown: “I’m stuck for an hour from home because I usually use my phone to start my car”, “I can’t unlock my car.”

“Hundreds of Tesla owners are stuck outside their cars (…). I am one of them. They said we would help the environment by owning an electric car, but the ‘walking’ isn’t what I thought,” another user sneered, explaining that he was carrying his card, but it ‘remained’ in the passenger compartment of the car.

The blackout appears to be global, and identical testimonials have been reported on the social network from several countries, including the US, Canada, Denmark and even Germany.
