Team Belgium brought back 20 World Transplant Games medals to Australia

“It’s a huge success! We got more medals than we expected,” he said. “Everybody has performed well. We are very satisfied.” The Perth Games were held from 15 to 21 April. Belgium has won medals in various categories in cycling, including the time trial and road race, but in athletics, 400m, 800m and shot put, the triathlon was organized for the first time. The Belgian delegation consisted of 24 athletes, the largest ever sent. The World Transplant Games are the equivalent of the Olympic Games for organ transplant recipients. The first edition took place in 1978. The next Games will be held in Dresden, Germany in 2025. (Belga)
