We have a small idea of the salary requirements for Camp Cole Cofield.
During an interview on TSN radio 690 a few days agoJournalist Darren Dreger noted that the Canadians and Coffield are not close to an agreement, even if there is no cause for concern.
The two sides will continue to negotiate, and the Caufield clan will be greedy – and this is justified.
“I look at Tim Stötzl’s contract and maybe that’s the kind of deal [l’agent] “Pat Bryson wants to get Caufield,” said Dreger.
Stützle signed an eight-year contract extension in September with an average annual value of $8.35 million. This agreement will enter into force next season.
Prior to signing this contract, Stützle had 29 points in 53 games in his first season and 58 points in 79 games in his second. In 2022-2023, the German proved the Senators right after signing his lucrative contract, amassing 90 points in 78 games.
Caufield could make similar arguments to those made by Stoetzel and his clan in the summer of 2022. He hasn’t fully hatched the American, but he’s given us a glimpse of his potential with 36 points, including 26 goals, in just 46 games this season. .
A salary matching Stützle’s would make Caufield the highest-paid Canadian striker ahead of Nick Suzuki, who has an annual average of $7.875 million.
