Square Enix Files Brand New, Return of Parasite Eve?

Square Enix Files Brand New, Return of Parasite Eve?

There are a series of games that we think are permanently buried, but from time to time make a little tremor, reminding us that they are still there. At least that’s what we hope to hope for as a fan, especially when a publisher registers a trademark that appears to be related to a license so dear to us.

It was a time of little fear

Although horror games are more prevalent these days, they are still clearly an action oriented type of game. And this change is not new, because even a chain like Parasite Eve has the right to do so. The first episode was released in 1998 in the US and Japan by Squaresoft, in what considers itself a horror role-playing game. Whereas its sequel in 1992, titled Parasite Eve 2, was largely inspired by Resident Evil and abandoned its battles using the ATB measurement system, in favor of head-to-head combat. The last episode we can get is a type of third-person action game called The 3rd Birthday on PSP in 2010.

The series has been known for its handling of horror, spawning a manga series and a movie in Japan, but also because its main character, Aya Prea, was designed by Tetsuya Nomura. An artist who has worked on several works, including the Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts, or even more recently on Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

And what tickles us is the recording of Square Enix last October 13 in Japan Brand Symbiogenesis. Behind this scientific name hides the definition behind the process of merging two different organisms. Obviously, those who have played the saga know that Parasite Eve’s scenario is based on this.

It remains to be seen what Square Enix wants to do with this new deposit, even if we’re not safe from seeing another mobile game without much interest.
