Ski resorts have also been affected by the new measures

The new health measures will also affect ski resorts in Quebec, which will have to limit indoor access to their facilities by 50% from Monday.

“Currently, the capacity of chalets, restaurants and shops represents 50% of the capacity of chalets, restaurants and shops which is like all the other sectors,” explains Josée Cusson, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Association of Ski School Stations Ski School of Quebec (ASSQ).

ASSQ is on familiar ground, as the situation was similar last season. At some stations it will still be necessary to keep eating inside, eg.

“It will be like controlling the business. So there will definitely be restrictions. There are ski resorts that will set up their reservation system,” continues M.I Kosun.

These new rules are added to existing recommendations, such as wearing a mask and returning to the same family bubble.

But these measures do not prevent Quebecers from practicing their winter sports.

So far, about 35 ski resorts have opened across the county and some have had to stop accepting season tickets.

“We find ourselves in the same situation as last season, so that hasn’t really stopped people from going skating,” confirms MI Kosun.

However, the ski lifts will operate at 100% of their capacity.
