Dr. Roaa Legenve recently won the L’Oréal-UNESCO Prize for Women and Science for her work in scientific research, in particular on milk protein allergy, which was carried out in the nutritional analysis laboratory of the National School of Engineers of Sfax, Habib Bourguiba University Hospital and Hedi Chaker University Hospital of Sfax.
The speaker, a doctor of nutritional sciences and a researcher at the National School of Engineers of Sfax, told the Tunis reporter Numérique that the L’Oréal-UNESCO Prize is awarded to women with the aim of improving their condition in this field. of science but also to pay tribute to the women who have contributed to scientific progress.
“My research topic is to find a milk substitute for children with milk protein allergy”She said.
She added that nearly 8% of children worldwide suffer from an allergy to milk protein.
The doctor confirmed that the state has simplified the administrative procedures and formalities to encourage her to conduct her research in the best conditions, expressing her thanks to all stakeholders in this success.
She said Tunisia is rich in skills and the state is doing its best to encourage scientific research.
