Secondigny للشباب Youth Campus Space Opened

The Parthenai Gatine (Deux Sevres) commune is committed to a policy for the benefit of youth through a call for projects of the Future Investment Program (PIA) “Youth Engage”. The aim is to give young people the means to continue living in the area, supporting them in their first projects and in new forms of work. To achieve this, the Rural Campus project was born in 4 municipalities: the central campus in Parthenai and the installed campus spaces in Minegot (since October 2019), Thenisai (since 2018) and Scandinavian.

Campus spaces, intended for young people aged 16-30, meet common goals:

- Inform young people of all topics: recreation, mobility, social welfare, health, orientation, training …

- Be attractive and allow young people to continue to live in the area,

- Give them the means to control the course of their lives,

- Encouraging the creation of economic, social and cultural activities and citizen projects, by supporting initiatives and participation…

- developing exchanges between youth and social and economic actors,

- Promote exchange, mutual assistance, transfer of knowledge and technical expertise,

- Support for the digitization of new forms of work.

This space (140 sq m) is located in the center of Secondigny near the media library, shops and association house, at the crossroads of various social and cultural activities with:

- co-working space,

- A multifunctional space that can serve as a youth reception and activities area, a meeting room,

- Two joint partner offices (youth reference, local assignment, family allowance fund, etc.)

- Friendly corner with kitchenette.

The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region supported the project with €31,900 as part of the Gâtine Revitalization and Consolidation Contract. The European Union has also supported this project with €25,000 under the Liaison Entre Action de Développement de l’Economie Rurale.
