The Offspring group will long remember their trip to Bas-Saint-Laurent, because one of their vehicles caught fire Friday on Highway 20, near Rivière-Ouelle, on its way to Rimouski for a show, Saturday night.

“A call was made at 1:37 pm on Friday for a car burning on the right shoulder of the motorway,” Stéphane Tremblay, a spokesperson for Sûreté du Québec (SQ), confirmed.

According to the information provided by the group, the Chevrolet Suburban was unable to avoid part of the car falling onto the road, damaging the SUV and causing a fire.

In a social media post, the group said that luggage, passports, laptops and almost everything else had been destroyed. What confirmed by SQ.

The organizers also breathed a sigh of relief when they heard the news.

We didn’t have time to be afraid. “We were quickly reassured,” said Marie-Pierre Mercier, director of media relations at Les Grandes Fêtes Telus.

One of the event’s promoters, Sebastian Tremblay, was quick to reassure the bracelet holders on social media.

“Sickness! But the offspring will be with us and they will burn,” he wrote, sharing a video of the burning truck.

The Offspring attracted 3,000 people to a Thursday evening show in Sherbrooke. The next day, he was supposed to go to Rimouski, but according to our information, the flight team finally slept in Saint-Pascal, in Kamuraska, because of this incident.

The California formation was scheduled to perform at Great Telus Holidays at 10:45 p.m. Saturday.
