Paul Sorvino, Actor of the Free People and father of Mira Sorvino, dies

American actor Paul Sorvino, best known for his role in the gangster movie “Goodfellas” and father of actress Mira Sorvino, has died at the age of 83, his entourage announced.

“I’m confused. The love of my life and the greatest man ever is gone. His widow, Dee Di Sorvino, wrote on her Facebook page, ‘I feel sad.'”

Born in April 1939 in New York, Paul Sorvino is best known for his role as Paul Cicero in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas, along with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta, which was released in 1990.

The following year, he starred in the television series “New York, the Judicial Police”, where he played the role of a policeman.

In 1995, he took on the role of Henry Kissinger in the Oliver Stone movie “Nixon”.

“My father, the great Paul Sorvino, is dead,” his daughter, Mira Sorvino, who won an Academy Award in 1996 for Woody Allen’s Cursed Aphrodite, tweeted.

“My heart is torn, the life full of love, joy and wisdom by his side is over,” she says with a sigh.

Paul Sorvino doubled the supporting roles in the cinema or in the television series, but he was a multifaceted artist, with a special gift for sculpture or opera.
