Outages from the ice storm have affected many sectors, especially in Montreal, and Hydro-Quebec is working hard to restore power to all of its customers, but now an English-speaking political figure, Balarama Holness, is accusing the state corporation of neglecting the West Island.

“I am troubled by the fact that Hydro-Quebec has not yet provided support to the West Island. It is important that they address this issue and provide an explanation,” he wrote in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of a map of Hydro-Quebec that only shows the situation in West Montreal.
People quickly began responding on Twitter noting that other sectors were also affected by the outage, and a reminder that Crown prioritizes outages affecting more customers.
However, you should know that sectors with more vegetation were more affected by outages, which may explain why things are progressing more slowly than elsewhere.
“No sector has been forgotten. The west of the island has not been forgotten,” said Maxence Howard Lefebvre, a spokesperson for Hydro-Québec.
