NHL: Eric Carlson scores a hat-trick, first in his career (Sharks)

SAN JOSE – Two-time Norris Cup winner Eric Carlson scored the first hat-trick of his career, but the Anaheim Ducks won 6-5 in a penalty shootout against the San Jose Sharks. Jose, Tuesday.

The Swedish full-back is having a great start to the season. After beating Anthony Stollars three times, he added his seventh, eighth and ninth goals this season, in his twelfth game.

Two of the previous Ottawa Senators’ goals came in overtime.

After scoring two goals in the first period, Carlson allowed the Sharks to send the game into overtime by tying the match with 2:12 remaining in the duel.

The Sharks’ number 65 is just one goal away from a total of 10 goals in 50 games during the 2021-2022 season.

Only Conor McDavid, of the Edmonton Oilers, leads him into the scoring column on the Pittman circuit.

Timo Maier scored the other two goals for San Jose (3-9-0), who have so far only had one success with 53 shots at the net this season.

Only one defender from San Jose scored a hat-trick. He is Carlson’s former classmate, Brent Burns, and is now a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.

With Ottawa, in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 campaigns, Carlson scored 20 goals and 21 goals, respectively;

In a shootout, Trevor Zegras and Troy deceive the vigilant Capo Kahkkonen with brilliant tricks.

The first to shoot, Logan Couture, beat Anthony Stollars, but the latter thwarted Kevin Labank and Carlson to end the controversy.

Double composer Adam Henrique, as well as Frank Vatrano, Ryan Strom and Maxime Comtoua, scored for Anaheim (3-6-1) in original time.
