Most of you think that Google can win the AI ​​battle

Artificial intelligence was at the center of Google I/O. The Californian company gives itself the means to battle OpenAI, MidJourney, and others, but will it get there? We asked for your opinion.

During the recent Google I/O inaugural conference, the Mountain View company showed that they were setting the pack on AI. In fact, if a manufacturer introduced some devices, such as the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet or Pixel 7a, the bulk of the presentation was held around AI.

It’s very simple, Google has put AI into most of its services, be it Google Drive group, Google Messages, Google Photos, Gmail or even its search engine. A way for the American group to deal with the attack that has been noted for a few months already on the part of OpenAI and its AI synthesis script, GPT4. It must be said that OpenAI has partnered with Microsoft to integrate ChatGPT requests directly within the Bing search engine itself. Neither one nor two, Google decided to do the same by presenting the results of its AI tools in its search engine.

Is Google too late?

However, while progress made by generative AI systems is not measured in years, but rather in weeks, Google seems to lag behind in deploying its own generative AI systems. Will the company be able to upgrade quickly enough to handle OpenAI and bing as well as other tools like Midjourney or Stable Diffusion?

Following the famous Google I/O, we just wanted to gather your impressions of Google’s potential in the field of generative AI. Do you think Mountain View might win this battle? These are the responses we collected.

Of those who participated in the survey, 43.9% expressed confidence about Google’s chances of winning this AI battle against, among others, Microsoft and OpenAI.

It doesn’t stop there. 42.8% of the participants went the same way, but remember that there is no victory a priori and the fight will be tough.

Finally, a minority of you don’t believe it: 10.8% of respondents answered no, but still admit that Google gives itself the means to succeed. 2.5% of the respondents said no.
