Canada expects to receive seven million doses of Moderna’s vaccine by the end of June, a record number for the delivery of this mRNA vaccine that will begin early next week.

On Wednesday, Supply Minister Anita Anand said the seven million doses would come from the US supply chain.
The announcement brings the total number of vaccines Canada had received by the end of July to 55 million, and will help the country reach immunization thresholds set by federal public health faster, or 75%.

As of June 7, the federal government has distributed more than six million doses of Moderna. Therefore, today’s news has more than doubled the number of doses of this vaccine distributed by Canada so far.
By far the most widely spread vaccine is Pfizer-BioNTech, with more than 21 million doses dispatched to counties as of June 7. AstraZeneca shipments reached 2.8 million.
