Meta: New Features for Instagram and Facebook Reels Are Coming

Meta on Tuesday announced new features for Instagram and Facebook regarding Reels, the increasingly popular short videos on their platforms.

The new features are likely to particularly attract digital content creators, who will be able, among other things, to monetize Facebook Reels.

So that’s what’s coming for the reels!

Add Your Own Poster

The poster, which was originally launched on Stories, is now shared with Reels on Facebook and Instagram. The “Add yours” sticker helps you join or start a trend – every time you use it, reels that others have added will appear on a page dedicated to it.

By posting from Instagram and Facebook

Share to everyone on Instagram is now enabled, so now you can share a reel from Instagram to Facebook with a single click. This allows creators to build communities on both platforms, while taking advantage of monetization programs across Facebook and Instagram.

Automatically generated reels

The automatically generated reels are selected from previously shared Facebook Stories, allowing you to share your favorite memories as reels with just a few taps. When creating a reel on Facebook, you have the option to select a self-created reel, which you can choose to edit or share.

remix for facebook reels

Add your own rotation to your favorite Facebook Reels with Remix – In addition to the ability for a remix to appear at the same time as the original Reel, you can now add your clip after the original to play in sequence.

Liquify the reels on Facebook

The ability to earn money with Facebook Stars on Facebook Reels is now available to all eligible creators.

New previews of Facebook reels in Creator Studio

Creators told Meta that they wanted more clarity on how their Reels were performing, so the company is implementing new metrics in Creator Studio that will help identify content in Facebook Reels that resonates with their audience. These metrics will include reach, minutes watched, and average watch time, helping content creators quickly know what their fan base likes to watch and for how long.
