Mark Zuckerberg celebrates his 40th birthday with Bill Gates in his old room at Harvard University

Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire at the head of Meta, decided to return to his roots by celebrating his fortieth birthday with Bill Gates, in the room he occupied when he was a student at Harvard University in Boston.

This photo was shared in a carousel posted on Mr. Zuckerberg's Instagram page. The latter explained that his wife, Priscilla, decided to revive the event by recreating the places he frequented in his youth.

“I am grateful for these first 40 years,” the businessman wrote in the caption accompanying his post. We see him in his childhood bedroom where he learned programming, in his first apartment, in the office he occupied “day and night” to “hunt competitors,” and the pizzeria he frequented during his studies.

The photo, which shows him with the Microsoft founder in a miniature version of his room at Harvard University, influenced many Internet users. Gates sits on a small sofa while Zuckerberg sits on a small wooden chair. During his time at university, Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook.

“I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor,” is how the creator of the world's largest social network described when describing his early professional years.

His partner, Priscilla, commented in a video: “Jokes aside, when I think about the 21 birthdays I spent with Mark, what I admire most about him is his trust in people.”
