Major outbreak of COVID-19 at RPA in Donacona

A home for the elderly (RPA) in Donacona, in Capitale-Nationale, struggles with a major outbreak of COVID-19.

The latest report shows that 94 people have contracted the virus since the outbreak began on December 22 at the Osumite residence. 73 seniors and 21 employees have contracted the virus.

CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale confirmed Friday that the institution was in the red. However, managers waited for details in order to learn the implications of this change for the region.

Shedding of loads in Chaudière-Appalaches

On Quebec’s southern shore, hospitals are having to do more shedding when capacity for hospitalization is reached. About 53 people are in hospital and 12 are in intensive care.
