Launch of QIST in Côte d’Ivoire to promote research and innovation

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Adama Diawara, will launch the International Fortnight of Science and Technology (QIST) 2023 on Thursday 11 May 2023 in Abidjan. This event, which will take place from May 11 to June 16, 2023, will have the theme “Research and Innovation in Côte d’Ivoire in the face of current challenges of global change.”

QIST will take place in several higher education and research institutions in Abidjan and elsewhere. The objective of this activity is to promote scientific culture among pupils, students, entrepreneurs, technical and financial partners, as well as political decision-makers. In particular, it aims to spark genuine interest in STEM among pupils and students.

This edition of QIST includes two major innovations: the involvement of higher education and scientific research institutions in the event and the establishment of the late Professor Konaré Awards, rewarding the promotion of young female scientists, and the best results in research-development and innovation.
