Kirby Returns to Dreamland: Return to Wonderland

We played it for hours (and hours!) when it was first released in 2011. But today, Kirby returns to Dreamland With a new look and he returned with an improved and improved “deluxe” version which, in addition to delighting nostalgic fans, will allow the youngest to get acquainted with this classic video game.

Hey Kirby! This adorable and adorable pink ball has been able to survive three decades without losing its luster or appeal. As proof of this, last year he gave us his first 3D adventure, which was well received by fans and critics alike. We got confirmation, without any ambiguity, that this beloved character for gamers was capable of evolving. And not just by devouring his enemies to simulate their fighting abilities.

This time, on the other hand, we are going backwards towards the past Kirby returns to DreamlandA new port for the Nintendo Switch. If you don’t reinvent the classic formula, it will still deliver a few hours of nostalgic happiness.

her plot? Kirby meets intergalactic traveler Magalore, who is stranded on the planet Pop after his ship crashes. So the player will have to clear different worlds to recover the pieces of his ship, only to be allowed back into the hangar, i.e. Halcandra.

We believe that this scenario is episodic, and serves only as a pretext for a series of quests and adventures in comical lands populated by enemies more benign than formidable.

Some novelties

Admitting it, we quickly returned to our memories with the launch of a portion of this new offering from Nintendo, which was published yesterday. Because if the colors are, of course, more vibrant and lively, then the essence of the classic game remains the same.

There are still two novelties that improve the adventure: additional powers available to our hero, i.e. sand handling and guns.

Are they radically changing the course of the game? No, obviously. But they bring a welcome touch of novelty.

It’s really apart from the original adventure that this “deluxe” version does justice to its name. First, with an epilogue that gives us control of Magalor, which brings us a different dynamic. With his special abilities – and thus distinct from those of Kirby – this hero carves his own path in this same universe.

It’s fun, it’s refreshing, and quite frankly, we wouldn’t mind seeing him inherit his own video game franchise.

Another novelty: additional mini-games, to be explored on the periphery of the main adventure. Think about the formula mario party, but with Kirby. It’s a bit childish at times, but we think the target audience is at a young age.

These two elements come to amplify a new and innovative character, but above all to increase the life of the game, without which it would not have reached the five-hour mark.
