Justin Barron is remembered by Canadians

The Montreal Canadiens called up defenseman Justin Barron on Tuesday morning.

So the right-handed defender can play his first minutes of the season for the big club on Wednesday in Tampa Bay against the Lightning.

With the MLS Laval Rockets, Barron has tallied 16 points, including seven goals, in 25 games since the start of the season. This is a high percentage among missile defense personnel.

Last year, the 21-year-old guard played five games with the Habs, after being acquired in the trade that sent Artturi Lehkonen to the Colorado Avalanche at the trade deadline. Baron scored a goal and added an assist.

A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Barron was a first-round pick, 25the Overall, from the Avalanche in the 2020 draft.

After the Christmas break, the Martin St. Louis men will be back in action on Wednesday night when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning. On Thursday night, the Canadian will stop by at sunrise to face the Florida Panthers.

The Habs will complete a seven-game streak away from the Bell Center by traveling to Washington on Saturday and Nashville on Tuesday.
