Joe Biden stands on stage during a military ceremony

(Colorado Springs) US President Joe Biden, 80, is “fine” according to the White House, after what appeared to be a slight fall during a military ceremony Thursday in Colorado Springs, in the western US.

The Democrat, who had just presented certificates to Air Force Academy cadets in Colorado, fell forward, landing on his knees and hands, after apparently stumbling into a black briefcase.

“It went really well. There was a sandbag on the podium and he shook hands,” his communications director, Ben LaBolt, tweeted.

Joe Biden, whose age and physical shape are constantly attacked by some of his political opponents, then has a soldier at his side and his bodyguards help him.

We saw him point to this bag, which was apparently used to weigh down a device at the scene, as if to explain why it had fallen.

The president, who is running for the 2024 election against Republican Donald Trump in particular, attended the end of the ceremony, apparently unimpressed by the fall season.

Then he flew back to Washington, and climbed the stairs to get on the plane without stopping to respond to the reporters present on the spot.

In June 2022, a photo of the president falling while riding a bicycle caused an uproar. Once again, Joe Biden got up and suffered no particular physical consequences.

The Democrat’s most recent health check, in February, found him to be in good health.
