Instagram exposed and rated: Patriots hockey player in hot water

Several students from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres (UQTR) denounced a hockey player from the University of the Patriots who allegedly created an Instagram account where he awarded a score to women, some of whom would have had intimate relationships with him.

Their photo and name as well as personal information such as their nationality or date of birth were disclosed.

“I find it stressful and uncomfortable. I find it very detrimental to the person as such and to the patriots,” said one of the alleged victims, who preferred to remain anonymous.

It was an unknown person who alerted the young women to this situation through social networks.

“I found out that the Instagram account was created by a player from the UQTR men’s hockey team. […] The account shows more than a dozen girls. […] The first publication is dated August 22, 2022 and the latest is October 30, 2022,” she wrote to the students.

“I, let’s admit, at first I didn’t realize. I am restless in life and almost had trouble sleeping,” confessed one of the young women who had been hurt.

Although the account has now been deleted, screenshots are still circulating, raising fears for many to go back to school.

“He seems to scare me. You know, we’re both in UQTR, so there’s a chance I could meet him or see him.”

“I’m there, at events, and there’s like social anxiety telling myself ‘Who saw that?’ Who heard of it? How do I look? Another of the alleged victims contacted by phone said, “I haven’t been back to the university since then because she is pressured to meet him.”

UQTR has been informed of the allegations and has confirmed that interim measures can be taken during the investigation and verification of the facts.

“Upon this information received on Friday, the letter was sent to the administration, which has taken measures to ensure that an investigation can be carried out,” UQTR spokesperson Jean-Francois Haines explained.

The hockey player confessed to one of the exposed ladies.

“Honestly, I’m really sorry. I didn’t really think about doing it. I thought it was funny, but it was really wrong and now I’m paying for it.” […] “I thought it was just for me,” he said.

He also received a temporary administrative suspension while the investigation was ongoing. So far, he hasn’t been able to put his ski boots on this past weekend. The procedure can be extended.

“I hope there’s really something in place regarding that, and it’s true that what worries me is that he’s a hockey player, because the culture we worship Quebec,” the young woman explained by phone. .

Some students plan to file a complaint with UQTR in the coming days.

Discussions are underway with the school management first to find out more about the events and if necessary, to take action if there are charges.
