In Cuba with their sixteen children for Christmas

Christmas 2022 promises to be unforgettable for a blended family of 16 children who will travel to Cuba on an all inclusive trip on December 20th.

In the gloom of the fifth wave a year ago, the idea for these vacations arose in Playa Pesquero, says Nancy Lefebvre, of St. Lynn Laurentides.

“We really said to ourselves, ‘No, we’re getting our money together this year and then we’ll celebrate Christmas in the South next year,'” says the mom, whose family consists of her 14 children and two in-laws, ages 2 and 22.

Seniors participated and raised money to help pay for their ticket through their student work.

Friends and parents will also be on the trip for a total of thirty people.

Unique opportunity

“For me, this trip is very important. In my opinion, this is one of the last trips where I will be able to take all my children with me, ”testifies M.I Lefebvre.

Leaving the entire family is expensive and it will be increasingly difficult to juggle everyone’s schedules.

It was also necessary to persuade the fast-food restaurant where four of the children work to take the week off at the same time, amidst a shortage of labor … Something finally obtained, the lady points out.I Lefebvre.

All that remains is to sort out certain details, such as the logistics of bagging. “We are so excited,” says the mother.

40 years under the sun

“Sourness” also describes Caroline Milani’s feeling in Estrie quite well.

On December 26, her 40th birthday, she will leave with 25 members of her family and close friends for Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba.

“Since the health restrictions really aren’t any more, I decided to celebrate it big with everyone. I called the shot I felt like I was celebrating there. Finally there are 26 of us leaving together!” says a Sherbrooke resident who owns a housekeeping business .

After two vacations to forget, this one will definitely stand out. “It’s really the Christmas that’s been wanted for a long time,” she says.

“Christmas, for me, is very important. This is the moment when everyone pauses, we part together, we come together. For me, it’s very important to be with family and also with friends, my friends for life,” she explains.
