Two very similar players, according to Mathias Brunet

If it’s Shane Wright’s Canadian Drafts, he could actually play for OHL in 2022-2023

Shane Wright? Juraj Slavkovsky? Logan Cooley? Who will be the first choice for Canadians? The puzzle is still the same.

Each clue could lead us to either Wright or Slough, the two most likely options. Every detail or statement allows us to believe in a certain outcome.

Take, for example, Wright. The fact that Martin St. Louis spoke to him and that Vincent Le Cavalier shared his view of a highly formulated man got people talking. Does this mean that CH will hunt from him?

This means that it is a filter.

Juraj Slafkovsky did not dine with Canadians in sum, But he faced two confrontations. He will also speak again with the Canadian tomorrow, and it will not be the same for the others.

Cole doesn’t have any of that.

Don’t read too much because these are evidence, not facts. This does not mean that Wright, who appears to have received the best “treatment” from the Canadians, will be the lucky one.

Besides, speaking of Wright, he sees himself playing in the NHL next year.

However, the question is whether Wright (assuming he’s the first overall pick) will go straight to the NHL.

Usually the first picks do, but we saw Owen Power (the first Buffalo pick in 2021) play for a year in the NCAA after being drafted. And we know Cooley is going to college next year.

CH believes the long term. If Wright is expected to be the best player in five, seven and ten years, he will be the pick. If Slavkowski is judged to be the most likely to help the Canadian cause (even if he is not as focused as Wright), he will be selected.

Next year will be less important. at what point? To the point where we seem to wonder, according to Jeff Marek, if Wright could play an extra year at OHL in 2022-2023.

The fact that the youngster missed a year of development could hurt his access to the NHL. Would we cry so much if Wright had to go back another year in the basement? I do not know.

But if it helps in the long run, it’s worth considering. It can also help him break down everything in his development.
