Concerned about the survival of the French language in Quebec, comedian Guy Nantel went to a place where few people know his famous pop music: Cégep Dawson.
Wanting to prove that native English speakers of Montreal have little or no interest in French-speaking Quebec culture, Nantel tested the knowledge of students and faculty at the college located in downtown Montreal on the subject.

“Have you questioned the importance of implementing the Charter of the French Language in CEGEPs? No doubt more. During this election period, the most relevant question for the survival of our language is already related to Bill 96 and the learning of French culture in English-speaking CEGEPs in order to put an end to isolation” to the leadership of Partey Quebecwa.
The participants in his video, whom he also thanks in his social media post, are having a hard time struggling to answer fairly easy questions about Quebec’s history and popular culture.
Obviously, the recipe for Nantel’s success is to show only the best of the worst answers, and there’s no doubt that few English speakers have risen to the challenge with flying colors…except that they don’t appear in the hologram.
On social networks, many denounced the lack of curiosity and interest of English speakers in French-speaking Quebec culture, a phenomenon Which we have already noticed.
It is now assumed that English speakers in Montreal (and perhaps even in Canada) will discover Jay Nantel within a few hours, and that they will tear off their shirts to denounce his bad faith.
We welcome them among us!
