Bad news for buyers of the physical version of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin? For the physical version in the US, a download appears to be necessary.
A Nintendo Everything reader, PSI Wind, works at a store and has shared some images of the game’s box with Nintendo Everything. On the front, there is an extension at the bottom that says “Download Required”. Capcom has not officially announced anything about it, and photos of the box posted on the Internet (
The Company) does not bear this mention. Even stranger, on the back of the box we were told a mandatory download of at least 15 GB. The file size in the eShop is currently 13.5 GB for Monster Hunter Stories 2, then the cartridge is empty and requires even more space than a simple game on the online store? Downloading isn’t necessarily a problem, especially if you have a MicroSD card, but having to download more than the entire game to your console on D-Day defeats the goal of buying a game in a box. This is complete nonsense. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin releases July 9, so we should get more details soon.

Be careful, but this is only for the US at the moment, nothing says that in Europe, the game on the cartridge will not be completed (and hopefully).
