Pierre-Carl Pelado told TVA Nouvelles that the Freedom Mobile network transaction is one of the largest in Quebec history.

“After buying Quebecor Videotron, this is the second time that it has been given the opportunity to create something bigger,” he says.
This transaction will change cellular coverage in Canada.
“In a large part of the country it will have a fourth player and we are very happy about that,” says the businessman.
To finalize the deal, Quebec agreed to reduce prices by 20% over the next ten years.
“It’s a commitment we’ve made (…) In Quebec, we always have much lower prices than the rest of Canada for a simple reason. Here, we’ve had competition for over 15 years now.
Even if this challenge is ambitious, the entrepreneur will surely succeed in offering more affordable prices.
“[Réduire ces tarifs] which are higher than those in Quebec, so there is no great level of difficulty for us, and we intend to win over customers by creating real competition due to our prices and innovations, ”emphasizes Mr. Péladeau.
