Manger en orbite alors que la station spatiale et des astronautes flottent autour de vous, voilà l’illusion que proposera le restaurant Space 220.

Florida – Disney opens a space restaurant

Nearly 40 years ago, on October 1, 1982, a new theme park opened in Disney World, Florida: Epcot. An acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. In mid-September, a new restaurant will open in the park, Space 220. A facility that will soon stand out, not because of its kitchen, but because of its location: in space.

The building is actually located on a space station, in orbit around the Earth. To get there, you must first take a space elevator, as the story goes Space.com. This is clearly an illusion, the restaurant is of course down to earth. It was originally scheduled to open in 2019, but the coronavirus pandemic has caused the project to fall behind schedule. On August 13, Zach Riddley, one of the restaurant’s designers, posted a video on Instagram showing a first glimpse of the venue.

He writes “They traveled 220 miles of Earth” (hence the name of the restaurant), or 354 km. “This immersive experience takes you to the Centauri space station, where you can catch a virtual peek at the planet from above while dining.” The facility will offer an international menu, with over 1,000 bottles of wine and a wide selection of handcrafted beers.
