Hit in the face with a stick, Laval rocket forward and hopeful CH Xavier Simoneau had left Friday night’s game on a stretcher at Place Bell.

Simoneau was in the middle of a pile of players near the Belleville Senators net when he took the hit, midway through the second half.
Immediately, the 22-year-old put his hands to his face and tried to retreat to the seat before giving up on the idea halfway through, visibly struggling.
He was finally placed on a stretcher and taken outside the rink towards the hospital centre.
As for the game itself, the Rockets ultimately lost 2-1 in a penalty shootout.
Despite having two powerplays in the third period, the Rockets couldn’t find the back of the net. A shootout was necessary to settle the debate.
Igor Sokolov beat Kevin Bolin on penalties to give the guests victory. Bolen finished the game with 32 saves. He got another interview with Sugard.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday afternoon in Laval.
