Dave Chappelle takes Elon Musk to the stage and it goes really badly

Once seen as a visionary inventor, billionaire Elon Musk is less well known than he used to be.

With his increasingly controversial outings, flirtations with the alt-right and the fiasco that was his grip on Twitter, Musk is now considered persona non grata by many.

For these reasons, you would think that people would want to refrain from having a controversial figure take the stage in front of a huge crowd.

Alas. Comedian Dave Chappelle (who got away with his first bad idea) decided to force the businessman’s presence on the people in attendance for his show in San Francisco on Sunday night.

“Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man on the planet!”

Obviously, the surprise was not unanimous among the spectators. Some people applauded, but mostly boos were heard.

Dave tried to salvage the situation, but every time Musk spoke, the crowd reacted with dismissive shouts.

Cell phones and cameras were banned during the show, but someone managed to film the footage.

The video of the embarrassing moment was first posted to Twitter, the social network for free speech, but has since been mysteriously deleted. We wonder why…

At least YouTube is still here.
