Daniel Brier may not have been chosen to become the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens, but he could still join the organization in another position.
That’s what Renault Lavoie said during his column with Jean-Charles Lagoy on Tuesday.
“I’m not saying that Daniel Breyer is definitely the next assistant to Kent Hughes, but he’s a candidate. He doesn’t have that title now with the Philadelphia Flyers. If he likes not only the selection committee, but Jeff Molson and Jeff Gorton, can we really miss Daniel Breyer? You need into someone who is able to think like a player among the top leaders.”
The journalist from TVA Sports also believes that the new trend of Canadians could move in soon.
We talked about the importance of appointing a new general manager to compromise. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in a month at the most, we could make some transactions. For the first time in two weeks? We’ll see because Jeff Gorton is still working the last few weeks. Kent Hughes has had his work cut out for him and he’s going to be very busy.”
