Conor Bedard is officially the leading scorer and scorer in Canadian history

Canada faces Slovakia tonight in the quarterfinal game.

The Canadians quickly took a 1-0 lead, thanks, of course, to Conor Bedard.

It’s his 15th World Junior Championship goal and 32nd point. In doing so, he became the all-time leading scorer and goal scorer in Canadian history.

He has surpassed Jordan Eberle’s goal scoring (14) and Eric Lindros’ scoring (31) in just 13 (!) appearances.

Recall that Lindros encouraged the youngster to break his own record.

If Canada beats the Slovaks tonight, Bédard will have two more games to add to his record.

The next NHL lottery winner will be driving with a guy like him on his list. Let’s hope it’s the Montreal Canadiens.

Unfortunately for him (or not), Bédard is in his last rookie game. He’s only 17 years old, but like Connor McDavid, the team that will pick him up in the 2023 draft will not loan him to the Canadian team for upcoming tournaments. At least I would be very surprised.
