England, who won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, are the reigning champions
England, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, South Africa and Malawi are the first six teams to qualify for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The teams were announced by the World Netball and Commonwealth Games Federation at the end of October, and a total of 12 teams will compete for next year’s title.
The tournament, of which England are the reigning champions, will take place at the NEC Arena from July 29 to August 7, 2022.
England automatically qualified as hosts, while the other five places were retained in the World Netball Team Rankings – the first five clubs to qualify for the Commonwealth Games until July 28, 2021.
Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, South Africa and Malawi compete in Birmingham with Vitality Roses.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the international calendar, the Commonwealth Games Federation and World Netball have announced an extension of the qualifying period for the other six places.
The qualifying deadline is now January 21, 2022, allowing teams to continue playing for ranking points until that date.
At the end of the deadline, the Commonwealth Games Associations, ranked seventh to 12th in the Netball World Rankings, will also qualify.

“Congratulations to the top six teams in the netball world rankings for winning their berths at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games,” said World Netball President Liz Nicole CBE.
“The World Netball will continue to work closely with the Commonwealth Games Federation and the Commonwealth Games Associations on the announcement of the remaining six teams.
“I look forward to seeing all 12 teams compete in this World Arena in Birmingham next year and the athletes taking advantage of this opportunity to participate in this important multi-sport event. “
England’s 52-51 win over Australia in 2018 was one of the most dramatic matches in Commonwealth Games history.
“We are already preparing for an exciting tournament. One of the highlights of Gold Coast 2018 is netball,” said Dame Louis Martin, president of the Commonwealth Games Federation.
This memorable final between Australia and England will be remembered as an important moment in the history of the Commonwealth Games.
