Canadiens prospects: Goals in the causes of loss Logan Mailou and Owen Beck

Montreal Canadiens player Logan Mailou scored his sixth goal of the season on Friday in a 6-4 loss to the London Knights at the hands of the Flint Freebirds.

The defender opened the scoring midway through the first half. He has collected at least one point in his last seven matches.

Aided by Zachary Giroud’s brace, the Knights took a 3-2 lead with just over five minutes left in game three, but Dmitry Kuzmin and Amadeus Lombardi hit the goal 27 seconds clear of the Freebirds.

Sean McGurn tied the game with 2:43 on the clock, but Marko Stojkov restored Flint’s lead 25 seconds later. Then Ethan Hay completed the scoring into an empty net.

Owen Beck celebrates his 14th

Owen Beck, the Canadiens’ second-round pick in the last draft, also scored in a lost cause, as the Peterborough Petes edged out the Mississauga Steelheads 7-3.

However, it was Chase Stillman who stood out in this game, scoring four times for the Bets.

Peterborough scored five unanswered goals in the first two games before Zachary Lavoie gave Mississauga a life-changing lead in Group C.

The Bates added two quick goals to take a 7-1 lead before the Steelheads hit the field goal twice late in the game.

Beck scored his 14th pole of the season with 2:26 remaining.
