Canada will impose new sanctions on 62 people close to the Russian regime and provide $3.85 million in funding to support two Ukrainian projects.

Among those sanctioned are senior Russian government officials, including Russian federal governors, regional presidents, their family members, and senior officials of defense sector entities currently under sanction.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $3.85 million in funding to support two Ukrainian projects under the Stability and Peace Operations Program, which provides assistance to the security of Ukraine’s sectoral institutions.
Canada also wants to continue to “combat Russian state-sponsored disinformation” by establishing a dedicated team to understand, monitor and detect such disinformation in order to respond quickly.
These statements were made on Tuesday morning during the virtual summit of heads of state and government of the International Platform for Crimea.
