There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Microsoft should be allowed to buy Activision Blizzard, with Sony basically fighting as hard as they could to try and stop the deal. But the British Capital Markets Authority is expected to give its opinion on Wednesday, and according to analysts at investment firm Wedbush, it will pass:
“We expect the CMA to approve the transaction in exchange for Microsoft committing to certain behavioral remedies that help control cloud gaming practices.”
And after the British authority approves the acquisition, the European Union will do the same, and finally the United States. According to the same analysts, this means that the deal will close within the time frame set by Microsoft when it announced its intention to buy Activision Blizzard in January last year. Wedbush Books:
“Once the UK and EU approve the deal, we expect the US Federal Trade Commission to do the same. We remain confident that the agreement will be completed on time, during Microsoft’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.”
What do you think, will Sony succeed in blocking the deal or will it go as planned?
