Amazon canceled Lord of the Rings MMO due to stampede

Fate appears not to be favorable to Amazon games seeing that one of these new projects, if not the most important, will be canceled. After accumulating delays in New World and Crucible’s cancellation, we learn from Bloomberg (in the person of Jason Schreier) that MMO The Lord of the Rings has joined the funeral list of projects that have been aborted. According to the most followed insiders in the video game industry, this unexpected cancellation is due to tensions between Amazon Games and Tencent, which has been financially involved in the project since the acquisition of Leyou Technologies.
