Amazing ending to Sherbrooke

Amazing ending to Sherbrooke

Pulling out of the end zone during the first three quarters of their game against the McGill University Redbirds, Vert & Or exploded late in the game to win 21-13 on Saturday afternoon at the University of Sherbrooke.

The visitors took a 13-6 lead thanks to a position at the start of the last period. Sherbrooke then needed a major in the last 12 minutes to get back into the game.

Anthony Robeshude found Emilio Jaimes Leclerc more than 10 yards out in the push-up area and after Louis Tardiff turned, Sherbrooke was able to get into the driver’s seat with one point priority.

An interception by Olivier Joly, one of the four to suffer in this match by Demetrius Synodinos, prevented McGill from reacting immediately and an offensive streak later, the Greens took their victory thanks to a touchdown from Pierre-Olivier Cadoret at 40 yards long, making all his teammates jump for joy on the lines side.

In the loss, Sinodinos converted half of his 52 passing attempts, for an overhead gain of 393 yards. Robichaud, for his part, joined his receiver 21 times for 179 yards, and was also the victim of three steals.

This victory for Sherbrooke (2-4) allows the team to stay ahead of McGill (1-5) in the standings. The Redbirds achieved their only campaign victory against Vert & Or, in the second week of activities.
