ALG D-16: Joshua Bondo at the whistle

The CAF Referees Committee has appointed Botswana Joshua Bondo to officiate the Cameroon-Algeria match scheduled for 25 March in Douala (6:00 pm).

This is by no means a new face for Riyad Mahrez’s colleagues. Since the referee has already officiated the Greens match against Burkina Faso in Marrakesh, within the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. His performance was questionable, he was subjected to many criticisms.

Joshua Bondo of Chad will be assisted by Issa Yaya and Mozambican Arsenio Chadric Maringol. Seychelles Bernard Hensel Camille will appear as the fourth referee. The Spanish duo will be in charge of Var. They are Alejandro José Hernandez and Jose Luis Monoera Monteiro.

In addition, Gambian Bakary Jasama will take charge of the return match scheduled for the 29th of this month in Blida. The latter will be accompanied by the Angolan Gerson Emiliano dos Santos and the Egyptian Mahmoud Abu Al-Regal. The fourth ruler is also Egyptian, Amin Muhammad Omar. The video refereeing this time will be controlled by the German duo consisting of Marco Fritz and Christian Dingert.
