AHL: The Laval Rocket lost for the sixth time in seven games on Sunday

Laval Rocket lost for the sixth time in seven games on Sunday in a 4-1 loss to the Hershey Bears that capped three straight games in three days.

Laval (3-8-3) has won only three wins this season and is the second after the last in the Eastern Group.

Friday’s overtime winner Anthony Richard scored the lone rocket goal over Zach Focale, his ninth of the season. Torrey Dello got help with the play.

The Bears scored three unanswered goals to start the game, starting with Hendrix Lapierre at 6:48 in the first half. Taking the disc behind the net, he goes in search of a free player to pass it to him, but he finally chooses to shove between shoves with success. Then he helped Lapierre achieve Bobby Nardella’s goal of strong play. Lapierre, who is playing his first season in the AHL after being selected in the first round of the 2020 auction by Washington Capitals, reached the 10-point plateau in his twelfth game.

Sam Anas, who had just been frustrated by a nice stopover from Kevin Boleyn, finally recovered later to make it 3-0 two minutes before the break.

Henrik Rybinski scored in the empty net with 2:36 from the end. Pauline surrendered three times on 26 shots in the loss, while Focale, a former Montreal Canadiens pick in the second round in 2013, saved 25 times. The latter has goals against an average of 2.02 and a savings percentage of 91.7% this season.

Jean-Francois Houle’s side will start their four-game winning streak at Place Belle on Wednesday when they host the Abbotsford Canucks.
