AHL: Rocket scores four goals in a row to win 4-3 in overtime

Playing champions in overtime for the Rockets on Friday, Anthony Richard scored his 24th goal of the season as LaValle won 4-3 over the Rochester Americans.

The Rockets lost 3-0 before completing an impressive comeback.

Berek Dube had two goals and an assist, Richard had a goal and an assist, and Lucas Condota had two assists.

Kayden Primo stopped the Rocket’s 21 pucks, while his opponent, Michael Houser, stopped 42 shots.

The Rockets trailed by one goal late in the game, and Primo retired in favor of a sixth player. Mitchell Stephens tapped a loose puck into the hole to tie the game at 3-3. Doby caught an assist on his third point of the game.

With 13:02 left in the third period, Rocket forward Riley McKay fought for the second time in the game, this time against Tyson Cusack. Along with a five-minute penalty, Mackay also received a 10-minute misconduct penalty and was sent off during the match.

Dobbie scored his second goal of the match, assisted by Kondota and Brandon Gignac.

Doby gave the Rockets hope by scoring their sixth power play goal of the season with 2:37 remaining in the second period. Kondota had an assist on that goal, too.

Houser then made several important saves to put the Americans back in the locker room with a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Jeremy Davies, who had an assist on his team’s first goal, made it 3-0 with his ninth goal of the season, 4:03 into the second period.

The second period was marked by physical play. The fight between Shawn Malone and McKee in the closing seconds of the first period seemed to inspire both teams for the rest of the match.

Mason Jobst and Xavier Simoneau were hit early in the second half, which counted as 14 penalty minutes in the first four minutes of play.

The rocket did not have the expected first period. Jiri Kulich opened the scoring for the Americans 1:07 into the game and Jobst doubled, with just over a minute left in the first period, the shorthanded team lead.

Not only did the Rocket allow a shorthanded goal, but the team was unable to capitalize on two penalties from the Americans in the first period.
