It’s science fiction and yet you imagine it…in an interview published in Washington PostAmerican “futurist” Amy Webb He predicts that “reproductive science” will dramatically change the way children are born—and may even change the maximum number of biological parents a person can have.
“What we’re talking about here is technology that unleashes our ability to be more selective and design life on purpose,” says Amy Webb, author of a new book, The Genesis Machine, co-authored with geneticist Andrew Hessel. “This means that a person will use his or her own genetic material to deliver a fetus; and that it will open opportunities to select traits from more than one parent.”
Having a baby should be ‘easier’
Amy Webb further adds that “Having a baby in 2022 is very difficult”: “The idea of making pregnancy easier for people who really want to be parents is something we should think about.” at futurism.com. Reproductive science can become “as simple as plastic surgery.”
